Senator the Hon. Arthur Williams is an Attorney-at-Law and a Member of the Senate of Jamaica.

He received his education at Munro College and the University of the West Indies.  He holds a BSc. and an LLB as well as a Certificate in Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School. He has been a practicing Attorney-at-Law since 1978.

Mr. Williams has held several posts in the Jamaica Labour Party, including:- Deputy General Secretary, responsible for Administration for twelve (12) years, between 1992 and 2003, Shadow Minister of Transport between 1998 and 2002.  Presently he is Co-Chairman of the Party’s Legal and Constitutional Committee and the Constituency Representative for South East St. Catherine.

He has been a Senator since 2002 and since September 2007, Minister of State in the Ministry of National Security.

He has specific portfolio responsibility for the Department of Correctional Services and the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA).
